The UK congratulated the recently elected President of Somaliland on his election victory. We played an active role in supporting the elections, including through the deployment of a 60-strong election observation mission. The UK is working with the new government of Somaliland to support the delivery of its development plan and other crucial reforms. We are also encouraged by the political and economic reforms announced by the Zimbabwean government in recent weeks, including plans to amend the indigenisation law. The Minister for Africa visited Zimbabwe on 1 and 2 February and met President Mnangagwa. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/12/2017 answer text <p>We have been working closely with interested parties across the UK, including local authorities, to raise the profile of the Commonwealth in the run up to next year's Heads of Government Meeting and to celebrate its unique networks.</p><p>We are encouraging local authorities to host a 'Commonwealth Big Lunch' between Commonwealth Day on 12 March and the end of the summit on 22 April. We have also asked them to encourage their communities to share their Commonwealth links on social media, using #ourCommonwealth to tell the story of the Commonwealth and demonstrate how wide ranging its people-to-people links are. As membership of the Commonwealth is limited to sovereign states, the Overseas Territories cannot attend the Heads of Government Meeting or other ministerial meetings in their own right but will be represented by the UK.
