answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/05/2018 answer text <p>The Saudi-led Coalition’s Yemen Comprehensive Humanitarian Operations Plan, announced on 23 January, included a commitment to provide $1.5 billion of new donations to the 2018 UN Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan, costed at $2.96 billion. Following this announcement, UK Ministers – including the Prime Minister – encouraged Coalition counterparts to disburse this funding quickly. At the Yemen High Level Pledging Event held on 3 April, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kuwait pledged $500 million, $500 million and $250 million respectively to the UN, totalling $1.25 billion. So far, Saudi Arabia and the UAE have disbursed $930 million to the UN Appeal. Humanitarian aid provides only 5-15% of the total need: commercial imports supply the rest.</p><p> </p><p>The effectiveness of the delivery of both commercial and humanitarian goods through Yemeni ports remains significantly below the level needed. In March, only 45% of the estimated monthly food needs and 51% of the monthly fuel needs have been met through imports via all sea ports.</p><p> </p><p>One way we are supporting commercial imports into Red Sea ports is through our support to the UN Verification Inspection Mechanism (UNVIM). We are providing £1.3 million to UNVIM this financial year (2017/18) and have provided UK experts on the ground in Djibouti. This extra capacity has enabled UNVIM to increase its physical inspections of commercial ships fivefold. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/03/2018 answer text <p>The northern ports of Hodeidah and Saleef play a critical role in importing 80% of Yemen’s humanitarian and commercial supplies, including food, fuel and medicine.</p><p>The Secretary of State for International Development has been clear that all parties must allow full and unhindered access throughout Yemen, including through Hodeidah and Saleef ports. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/02/2018 answer text <p>As the Prime Minister set out in her November visit to Riyadh, the UK continues to call for complete and unhindered access for commercial and humanitarian imports of food, fuel and medical supplies particularly through the ports of Hodeidah and Saleef. Following the Secretary of State’s visit to Riyadh in December we were pleased to see the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia lift all access restrictions. To encourage commercial imports which provide over 80% of Yemen’s food and fuel, we are providing £1.3 million to the UN’s Verification and Inspection Mechanism (UNVIM) this financial year (2017/18) and have provided UK experts on the ground in Djibouti to increase the number of UNVIM inspections of commercial vessels entering Yemen.</p><p> </p><p>The UK will continue to play a leading role in the humanitarian response and efforts to find a political solution to the conflict in Yemen.
