The revised Framework we consulted on proposed a number of measures, including by requiring local authorities to improve biodiversity and air quality, and delivering our manifesto commitment to increase the protection for ancient woodland. We engaged relevant stakeholders during the consultation, which closed on 10 May 2018, and we are currently considering responses. answer text
The Government is aware homelessness is an issue which goes beyond Westminster, which is why the Rough Sleeping Advisory Panel was set up. The panel, of which Crisis CEO Jon Sparkes is a member, provides evidence-based advice which the Government will consider ahead of the upcoming Rough Sleeping Strategy.

This Government is pleased at how aligned the report is with actions we have already taken. The campaign calls for the implementation of schemes such as Housing First. In last autumn’s budget with £28 million worth of funding was announced for pilots in Manchester, Liverpool and the West Midlands.

We are committed to increasing the supply of new social homes. We are investing over £9 billion in affordable housing, and on June 26, this Department announced we will deliver a further 23,000 affordable homes, including at least 12,500 at social rent in high-cost areas, in a move to support families struggling to pay their rent. We have also invited local authorities in high affordability pressure areas to bid for a share of £1 billion extra borrowing to build much-needed homes.

The strategy will be published by July this year.

answer text
The Department ran a competitive tender to procure data on planning applications and development pipeline, which closed on 23 March 2018.

The specification for this database is publicly available at the following link: https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/cc21a568-739a-4090-8b7d-d58eb8b4cb84.

The specification covers a considerable amount of information relating to planning and development data. Very large sites are often complex in nature and as such the Department is currently working with the supplier to establish a robust methodology to consistently provide build-out information. This is currently being scoped and due to the complexity involved it is not possible to provide a definitive date for completion.
more like this
