answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/10/2019 answer text <p>Our Rough Sleeping Initiative (RSI) Impact Report was published on 12 September 2019 and assesses the impact of the initiative from its launch in March 2018 until Autumn that year. The analysis reports a welcome 32 per cent reduction in numbers of rough sleepers in areas funded by the RSI, compared to what the level would have been had the initiative not been in place.</p><p>We are expecting to be able to publish the process evaluation for the RSI later this year. This will evaluate mobilisation of the first year of RSI funded interventions in individual local authority areas, identifying barriers and enablers and highlighting good practice.</p><p>The government is committed to reducing homelessness and rough sleeping. It is simply unacceptable that anyone should be sleeping on the streets in modern Britain. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/04/2019 answer text <p>We do not intend to publish the results from the bi-monthly counts conducted in the Rough Sleeping Initiative (RSI) areas.</p><p>This is internal management information and, unlike the annual snapshot rough sleeping statistics, are not independently verified. Publication could therefore undermine public trust and confidence in the integrity of the annual statistics.</p><p>The bi-monthly counts enable an approximate measure of change for management and trend purposes (such as seasonal differences). This is used in combination with wider intelligence, including from our expert RSI advisers, to provide an understanding of the rough sleeping situation and cohort in each area.</p><p>We intend to publish findings from both an impact and process evaluation of the RSI later this year. This will include analysis of relevant information collected from local authorities as part of the Department’s monitoring of the initiative.</p><p>The Government is committed to reducing homelessness and rough sleeping. No one should ever have to sleep rough. That is why last summer we published the cross-government Rough Sleeping Strategy. This sets out an ambitious £100 million package to help people who sleep rough now, but also puts in place the structures that will end rough sleeping once and for all. In its first year, the RSI provided over 1,750 new bed spaces and 500 staff. That is why last summer we published the cross-government Rough Sleeping Strategy which sets out an ambitious £100 million package to help people who sleep rough now, but also puts in place the structures that will end rough sleeping once and for all. Already, this has provided over 1,750 new bed spaces and 500 staff– this means there are more people in warm beds tonight as direct result of government funding. In all, the Government has now committed over £1.2 billion to tackle homelessness and rough sleeping over the spending review period.</p><p>The Rough Sleeping Initiative programme is led by a multi-disciplinary team that includes MHCLG civil servants, expert rough sleeping advisers, seconded from the homelessness sector, and specialist advisers from across government who provide including health, prisons and probation and care leavers. The expert rough sleeping advisers are funded by MHCLG and the specialist advisers are funded by their own departments.</p><p>Rough Sleeping Initiative payments are not issued monthly. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/10/2018 answer text <p>In March this year, we announced the Rough Sleeping Initiative, which provided £30 million to 83 local authorities with high levels of rough sleeping. This represents a significant increase in support local authorities are able to offer people now and also those at risk this coming winter.</p><p>This funding will go towards over 500 new dedicated homelessness workers and an additional 1,750 bed spaces.
