This was particularly the case for HMS DUNCAN in 2014 and 2016 when she visited Belfast, the latter being in company with the other vessels in the NATO Task Group.

These visits also allow wider defence engagements and support to the community and charities. For example, the ship's company of HMS DUNCAN have conducted outreach activities with the local hospice and youth groups.

In parallel with this, the ship's Commanding Officer maintains an on-going relationship with various affiliates in the region.
more like this

answer text
Tackling illegal trapping of migratory birds is one of the Sovereign Base Areas (SBA) Administration's top priorities, with the level of trapping, and plans to counter it, constantly under review.

Bird trapping is a widespread issue across Cyprus and is not confined to the SBAs. The SBA Administration is working hard to counter illegal trapping, last year prosecuting 78 people for trapping and poaching offences, with the SBA Police conducting 39 major clearance operations. This resulted in the seizure of over 1,000 mist-nets and 450 limesticks.

Since 2014, the SBA Administration has cleared approximately 61 acres of invasive non-native acacia planted by bird trappers to attract birds and has begun a programme to remove irrigation piping, which promotes growth of invasive acacia.
more like this
