answer text <p>[holding answer 20 March 2014]</p><p>I refer the Honourable Member to my reply of 13 March 2014, Official Report, column 326W.</p><p> </p><p>The Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Command is fully integrated within the National Crime Agency (NCA). As part of the NCA, the CEOP Command is able to draw on the whole of the NCA's resources. The NCA works as a flexible organisation and as such there will be NCA officers whose work covers a range of serious and organised crime threats.</p><p> </p><p>In total the NCA has 1,900 officers who currently hold arrest powers who can be called upon to tackle child exploitation. This number is for NCA permanent officers and does not include secondees or those attached to the NCA.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The e-Borders programme has been incorporated within the Border Systems' scope <br>of work. Border Systems now assumes responsibility for the Warnings Index and <br>the wider Border Force portfolio of technology projects. Border Systems will <br>build on the foundations of the e-Borders programme, strengthening even further <br>our border security.<br><br>The procurement approach to replacing the primary border security elements of <br>the Border Systems Programme will reflect broader Government ICT and Commercial <br>strategy, and there will be no single, large supplier. The Home Office will <br>lead development, with services procured from a range of providers, potentially <br>including small and medium enterprises. <br><br>By March 2015 the Border Systems Programme aims to:<br><br>• Complete resilience of all current business critical systems; <br>• Develop replacement primary border security systems; <br>• Provide additional capability to support commitments on exit checks; <br>• Establish a programme for the next generation of Radiological and Nuclear <br>detection (Cyclamen); <br>• Continue the implementation of second generation e-Gates across the estate; <br>• Develop and implement new freight targeting capability for Sea Containers; <br>• Establish contracts to purchase new detection equipment; <br>• Continue to assure live operations of existing systems.</p><p> </p>

Of this number, 75 have been referred on to the relevant police force. There were 35 contacts from professionals seeking advice on the correct procedures to follow in regard to a child at risk of FGM. answer text <p> </p><p>The Office for National Statistics long-term international migration data <br>include estimates of the numbers of students leaving the UK. At the request of <br>the Home Office and other migration statistics users, the ONS has improved its <br>methodology with an aim to identify emigrants who had originally arrived as <br>students. This has assisted in assessing the contribution of students to <br>overall net migration. It is estimated that 49,000 non-EU migrants, who had <br>previously immigrated for study, had emigrated from the UK in the year ending <br>September 2013. <br><br>HM Government has made a commitment to reintroduce exit checks. By 2015, we <br>will have checks in place on those who leave the UK by scheduled international <br>air, sea and rail services. Introducing exit checks will improve our ability to <br>confirm departure and to identify those who have failed to leave the UK when <br>they should have done so.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p> </p><p>16 victims of trafficking (1 male, 15 female) have received financial <br>assistance under the programme since April 2011.<br><br>While the Assisted Voluntary Return for Irregular Migrants (AVRIM) programme <br>does not normally include financial assistance, a discretionary sum of up to <br>£1000 is provided for specified vulnerable cases, and this includes victims of <br>trafficking. Assisted Voluntary Return is only available to non-EEA nationals <br>and the support is not dependent upon whether the individual has arrived from <br>inside or outside the EU.<br><br>The figures provided are sourced from a Home Office management information <br>system which is not quality assured under National Statistics protocols and is <br>subject to change due to internal data quality checking.
