The imposition or lifting of a visa regime is not undertaken lightly and follows a detailed review of the <br>risks including immigration, security and crime risks. answer text <p /> <p>The Government has no immediate plans to introduce personal advocates for child asylum seekers across the UK.All unaccompanied children entering local authority care are entitled to the same level of support and protection, regardless of their immigration status, nationality or documentation. This includes a social worker responsible for planning the care of the child, and an independent reviewing officer who would ensure the child was aware of the implications of their immigration and asylum status.</p><p /> more like this

answer text <p> </p><p> </p><p>At the end of December 2011, 331 asylum applications from main applicants, aged 17 or under, were pending a further review, 184 at the end of December 2012 and 206 at the end of December 2013. Cases pending further review are those in the appeals process (all tiers), but exclude those that are pending a judicial review. <br><br>In 2011, 150 appeals from applicants aged 17 or under were allowed; 152 in 2012 and 125 in 2013.<br><br>Appeal determinations do not necessarily relate to those pending a further review in the same period. The figures for appeals determined are cases dealt with by Immigration Judges at the First-tier Tribunal of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber. The figures for pending further review including First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber.<br><br>The figures provided are a subset of latest published statistics which are published by the Home Office on a monthly (pending only) and quarterly basis. This is because we have obligations under the Data Protection Act and in law generally to protect this information.<br><br>The UK has a proud history of granting asylum to those who need our protection and we consider every claim for asylum on its individual merits.<br><br>We believe that those with no right to be in the UK should return to their home country and we will help those who wish to leave voluntarily. answer text <p> </p><p>The UK led the call for the urgent imposition of EU sanctions, imposing an asset freeze on 22 individuals suspected of misappropriating funds from the Ukrainian state. <br><br>Those assets which are proven to be the proceeds of corruption through criminal investigations, and subsequently confiscated, will be returned to Ukraine.<br><br>We do not release information on the value of assets frozen under financial sanctions in the UK for reasons of confidentiality, and we do not hold information on the value of assets frozen overseas. <br><br>It is our policy to work closely with other governments to assist them to trace and repatriate stolen assets. All appropriate criminal justice and administrative routes to support the Ukrainians are being explored. The Director of the Serious Fraud Office has opened a criminal investigation into possible money laundering arising from suspicions of corruption in Ukraine. The Serious Fraud Office has obtained a restraint order freezing approximately $23 million of assets in the UK in connection with this case.</p><p> </p>

answer text <p> </p><p>The EU established the Centre for Information and Migration Management (CIGEM) in Bamako in 2008 in conjunction with the Malian authorities. The Centre is still operating, but does not currently receive EU funding. <br><br>The Government believes such centres can play a useful role in dissuading migrants from making dangerous and illegal journeys in an attempt to reach the EU. <br><br>We also welcome other EU initiatives to address migratory flows from Africa, including the extension of the EU's support for the ‘Regional Protection Programmes' in North Africa and the Horn of Africa which help ensure adequate protection for refugees in their region of origin.</p><p> </p> more like this
