answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/09/2017 answer text <p>​We remain concerned by restrictions placed on freedom of religion or belief in China, including on practitioners of Falun Gong.</p><p>At the UK/China Human Rights dialogue on 27 June we discussed our concerns about restrictions placed on Falun Gong practitioners with the Chinese authorities. We remain on track to deliver four million km<sup>2</sup> of protected ocean around our OTs by 2020. In support of our commitment, I was pleased to announce £20 million of funding to support our Blue Belt commitments over the next four years at the Our Oceans Summit in Washington DC last September.</p><p>So far, that funding has provided support to develop management, surveillance and enforcement plans to very large marine protected areas already announced. It has also supported the development of marine protection strategies to Territories committed to developing marine protection regimes by 2020. I am pleased that, on 15 March, Mr Tsege had an introductory meeting with a lawyer, allowing him to discuss his options under Ethiopian law.</p><p>The Ethiopian and Yemeni authorities have both stated that they have a bilateral treaty that permits Mr Tsege's extradition to Ethiopia. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/12/2016 answer text <p>Neither I nor my Ministerial colleagues have specifically discussed the UN Office for the High Commissioner of Human Rights' report of 20 June with Burmese counterparts. However, the Government has repeatedly raised concerns about the persecution of the Rohingya Muslim minority in Burma. I last raised this when I met the Burmese Minister of Construction on 29 November. The Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my noble Friend, the Rt Hon. the Baroness of Anelay of St Johns raised our concerns when she visited Burma from 9-12 November. The British Government remains one of the largest bilateral aid donors in Rakhine State. In response to the recent escalation of violence in Rakhine, I and other Government Ministers have called on the Government of Burma to resume immediately humanitarian aid and conduct an independent investigation into allegations of human rights violations. The Government of Burma has now committed to do so. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/10/2016 answer text <p>As he made clear during the House of Commons Emergency debate on the situation in Aleppo on 11 October, the Foreign Secretary has every sympathy with the idea of no-fly zones and the motives behind them. The situation in Syria is appalling and we are working with international partners on ways to help alleviate the suffering of the people there, particularly those in besieged areas such as Aleppo. We continue work to identify what more the international community can do. The practicalities of any form of no-fly zone, or safe zone need to be considered very carefully and in close consultation with our partners. History shows these are not simple tasks, especially in intense conflict. In fact, there is a risk that safe zones can themselves become targets. Any party seeking to establish a safe area would need to ensure that it could be kept safe. We would need to understand fully the consequences, including the fact that we should not commit to maintain such a zone unless we were prepared to shoot down planes or helicopters that violated the zone.</p><p>Our priority continues to be the protection of civilians in Syria. We continue to use our voice in the UN and elsewhere to keep the focus on what is happening, to call for the Cessation of Hostilities to be restored, full humanitarian access, to allow the resumption of a political process. Charges were brought by the Natural Fruit Company Ltd, but Thailand’s Attorney General later joined the prosecution. Our Embassy observed this hearing along with counterparts from other EU Embassies. The Court summoned Mr Hall to appear next on 19 October. <br><br>The charges relate to an Aljazeera interview Mr Hall gave in Rangoon, Burma in which he discussed his involvement in conducting research for Finnwatch’s 2013 report, Cheap Has a High Price.
