answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/10/2015 answer text <p>The Government is carrying out a public consultation exercise, seeking the views of Chagossians and other interested parties, about a potential resettlement of the British Indian Ocean Territory. The consultation is scheduled to last 12 weeks, concluding on 27 October. I am pleased that an estimated five hundred Chagossians in the UK, Seychelles, and Mauritius have joined meetings with members of the British Indian Ocean Territory Administration to talk through the consultation document. Though we have been clear that this document is not a statement of UK Government policy, as no decision has yet been taken, it sets out the most realistic hypothetical scenario in which possible resettlements, including a pilot option, could take place. The consultation period will help us understand Chagossians’ aspirations and the level of demand for the options set out. Human rights guidance is a core part of that. The UK National Action Plan for implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, entitled &quot;Good Business&quot;, sets out what the Government will do and what it expects of business in respecting human rights throughout their operations.</p><p>The Government is working with the Government of Malawi and British companies to encourage greater bilateral trade and investment. In September 2013 the Government published an National Action Plan entitled “Good Business” setting out how we would implement the UN Guiding Principles and what action we would take to support the principles internationally including by encouraging other states to follow the principles and to publish their own national action plans where possible. Since his departure, the Minister for Africa and senior officials have followed events in the Sahel closely. The UK has also continued to show leadership in the Sahel through participation in international Missions such as the UN Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) and EU training missions in Mali and Niger. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office is aware of reports of rebel incursions spilling over the border from CAR into Cameroon. Approximately 442,495 of CAR’s population have been internally displaced. Approximately 241,231 refugees have fled to Cameroon, 93,120 to Chad, 68,165 to the Democratic Republic of Congo and 21,554 to the Republic of Congo. Some of these governments made subsequent commitments at the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict. Others have reformed their legislation, introduced new army codes or improved their military training. We have not formally assessed each endorsing government’s compliance. In line with the FCO’s Consular Strategy 2013-2016, we focus resources on those who need us most and are most at risk. We route calls to all our consular posts overseas to three contact centres in Malaga, Hong Kong and Ottawa. Urgent cases, and those that require local support, are passed to posts across eight consular regions.</p><p>The number and location of our consular posts is based on the number of British nationals travelling and living overseas, and the number and complexity of consular cases.
