This document outlines the dementia care pathway and associated benchmarks to support improvements in the delivery and quality of care and support, for people living with dementia and their families and carers. The guidance includes information on key roles and activity for both primary care services and memory assessment services to facilitate an accurate and timely diagnosis of dementia, while ensuring access to appropriate support following diagnosis.</p><p><br> The guide also sets out an aspiration to increase the number of people being diagnosed with dementia, and starting treatment, within six weeks from referral, and showcases good-practice examples of services that have successfully reduced their waiting times. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/12/2023 answer text <p>Based on the latest scientific evidence, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) has recommended a COVID-19 vaccination for those at higher risk of serious outcomes from COVID-19. This includes all adults aged 65 years old and over and those aged six months old and over with specified underlying health conditions.</p><p>The National Health Service COVID-19 vaccination programme provides vital protection to those eligible, keeping people from developing serious illness, and helping to minimise hospitalisations during busy winter months. This year’s autumn COVID-19 vaccine programme started on 11 September 2023 in England as a precautionary measure following the identification a new COVID-19 variant called BA 2.86. As of 30 November 2023, over 11.2 million autumn vaccinations for COVID-19 have been administered since start of the autumn campaign. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/12/2023 answer text <p>Published data from NHS England shows that there were 99,067 total general and acute (G&amp;A) beds available in October 2023, including 96,781 core beds and 2,285 escalation beds.</p><p>Our Delivery Plan for recovering urgent and emergency care services set the ambition to increase the core G&amp;A bed base by 5,000 permanent staffed beds in 2023/24 compared to planned levels for 2022/23. This would increase the number of core beds to 99,500. As of October, the National Health Service has delivered 2,281 additional core beds. NHS England continues to work with local systems and trusts to deliver this ambition this winter.</p><p>G&amp;A bed numbers are expected to peak in January 2024 in response to expected demand. It also costs our country £17 billion a year and puts a huge burden on the National Health Service.</p><p>This is why the Government is planning to create a smokefree generation by bringing forward legislation so that children turning 14 years old or younger this year will never be legally sold tobacco products. This, alongside regular engagement with the retail sector, will help to shape the proposals and ensure we provide support to retail workers to implement the future legislation.</p><p>We are also providing £5 million this year and £15 million thereafter to support new national marketing campaigns.
