<p>The latest rate of sickness of National Health Service staff is 4.16% (2016/17).
Comparable figures from 2009/10, extracted from the Electronic Staff Record (ESR),
are shown in the following table and is information collected from ESR by NHS Digital.
Sickness absence data collected by the Department before 2009 used a different methodology
and are not comparable. Sickness absence figures for 2017/18 will be published in
