answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/03/2024 answer text <p>The Central Government Supply Estimates 2023-24, presented to the House of Commons and published on 27 February 2024 (see link below), details the funding provided to the Department for Transport across a large number of different areas. The value associated with all rail and rail related lines is £33.029 billion, across both Departmental Expenditure Limit and Annually Managed Expenditure. More than half of the total value is associated with Network Rail, with other areas including but not limited to High Speed 2, Crossrail and support for passenger rail services. This is why funding guidance for local authorities is clear that all schemes must be developed in consultation with local communities, in line with responsibilities under existing legislation such as the Public Sector Equality Duty and Road Traffic Regulation Act. This will enable a range of views to be considered and given due regard. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/01/2024 answer text <p>Transport in London is devolved and is the responsibility of the Mayor of London and Transport for London (TfL). While the Department for Transport works closely with TfL on a range of issues, decisions on spending are entirely matters for TfL and/or the London boroughs where funding is devolved at the borough level.</p><p>No grant money has been given to the Mayor of London for his recent expansion of ULEZ, indeed the department specifically prohibited the use of government-provided funds for it.</p><p>In 2020/21, government allocated TfL and London Boroughs £25m from the Active Travel Fund and has since required TfL to ring-fence set amounts of funding for active travel schemes, including funding for London Boroughs under the local implementation plan process, in the extraordinary funding settlements with TfL throughout the Covid era.</p> answering member constituency Bexhill and Battle answering member printed Huw Merriman question first answered 23/01/2024 11:04:53 answering member 4442 label Biography information for Huw Merriman
