answer text <p>Network Rail launched the sale of its commercial estate last November. Once the business is sold, current leases will transfer to the new owner and all lease arrangements and protections will be unchanged. The tenants’ rent review terms will continue as per their original lease agreement. Discussions about future lease arrangements will be a matter between tenants and the new owner.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Network Rail has conducted an open and competitive tender process for the sale and will select the bidder who best meets its sales objectives - to preserve the safety and operational integrity of the railway and deliver value for money.</p> more like this

answer text <p>A large number of staff within the Department for Transport’s Rail Executive liaise with Network Rail on a wide range of policy, delivery and operational issues - it is not possible to state an exact number as these staff also have other responsibilities. A team of seven officials currently handles issues specifically arising from Network Rail’s reclassification to the public sector in September 2014. Future resourcing will remain responsive to business needs and is not pre-planned over these years.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Secretary of State for Transport’s direct powers in relation to Network Rail’s Board are the rights to appoint or remove the Chair and the Special Director. Decisions on both of these posts were announced on 25 June and have taken effect.</p><p> </p><p>Other changes to Network Rail’s Board are a matter for Network Rail in consultation with the Secretary of State. As it said in its Annual Report, Network Rail is currently in the process of recruiting a new Non-Executive Director with railway experience.</p><p> </p> more like this
