answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/06/2019 answer text <p>The Government is committed to developing an inclusive transport system which disabled people can use easily, comfortably and without additional cost, and it is essential that taxi and private hire vehicle services play their part in making this happen.</p><p> </p><p>In 2017, the Government commenced legislation to prevent wheelchair users from being refused carriage or charged extra. Industry estimates that rail freight delivers economic benefits, including, cost savings to industry, environmental benefits and road congestion relief of around £1.7 billion per year.</p><p> </p><p>The Government published a Rail Freight Strategy to provide a stable policy framework to enable rail freight to grow and achieve its potential. The Government is committed to working with the rail freight industry to support its continued success. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/06/2019 answer text <p>The Government’s plans to promote cycling and walking are set out in the statutory Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy, published in April 2017. The Strategy’s ambition is to make cycling and walking the natural choice for shorter journeys, or as part of a longer journey. The Strategy includes a commitment to monitor the uptake of cycling by age, gender, ethnicity and mobility.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Department for Transport recognises that the take-up of cycling is lower among some groups than others. For some under-represented groups, concerns about safety are a major barrier to taking up cycling. Production of automated vehicles and associated technologies in the UK is estimated to represent a gross direct contribution of £6.9bn to UK Gross Value Added by 2035, supporting over 27,000 jobs, including thousands of new highly skilled jobs in the automotive sector. This is up from 15 noise monitors three years ago and the airport intends to invest more in noise monitoring in the future. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/06/2019 answer text <p>The Department for Transport guidance sets out how we should consider optimism bias when appraising transport schemes. In the case of Heathrow expansion, we estimated noise impacts using a central demand scenario in order to provide estimates consistent with the rest of the appraisal. In order to test worse case impacts, a higher demand scenario was used in the revised Appraisal of Sustainability (AoS).</p><p> </p><p>The 2014 Survey of Noise Attitudes (SoNA) recognises that attitudes towards aviation noise are changing. The work carried out during the SoNA study shows that sensitivity to aircraft noise has increased, with the same percentage of people being highly annoyed at lower levels of noise than in a past study. As a result, the Government has introduced new metrics and appraisal guidance to assess noise impacts and their impacts on health and quality of life.
