answer text <p>DFID tackles malaria through bilateral programmes in countries, research, multilateral funding to the Global Fund and the World Health Organisation, and through activities such as strengthening health systems in endemic countries.</p><p>The Malaria Framework for Results estimated UK spend at £428 million for 2014/15. This was the final year of the Framework and no estimate of comparable spend was produced for 2015/16. All direct bilateral malaria spend and relevant multilateral contributions are available in <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/statistics-on-international-development-2017" target="_blank">Statistics on International Development</a> . DFID is currently the second largest global funder of the effort against malaria and expects to remain a leading global donor in the future.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Our partnership with the Palestinian Authority includes a commitment from the Palestinian leadership to adhere to the principle of non-violence and to tackle language and avoid actions that could incite violence or hatred. The UK continues to urge the Palestinian leadership to uphold this principle. The UK Government deplores any act of incitement to violence; I raised the issue of incitement with senior Palestinian counterparts during my visit to the region in August.</p> more like this

answer text <p>DFID provided £1,127,646 between 2015 and 2018 to the Leprosy Mission England and Wales to improve the livelihoods and food security of poor people in Mozambique, including people affected by leprosy.</p><p>DFID has also committed up to £570,915 between 2016 and 2019 to LEPRA, for work in rural Bangladesh. This project provices early detection services and improved access to quality health services for people who are at risk of contracting leprosy or lymphatic filariasis.</p><p>DFID also provides funding for the World Health Organisation’s work on NTDs, and more generally supports the strengthening of health systems, helping to ensure that countries are better able to detect and treat all causes of ill health, including leprosy.</p> more like this

DFID supports progress towards the WHO 2020 targets on leprosy through our funding to civil society organisations such as Leprosy Mission England and Wales and LEPRA and to the WHO’s NTD programme.
