We believe they are best placed to know what is required in their communities. To increase opportunities for young people to benefit from open access youth services and youth social action, Government is investing £80 million, in partnership the National Lottery Community Fund, through the Youth Investment and #iwill Funds.</p><p> </p><p>A public call for evidence as part of the review of the guidance which sets out the statutory duty placed on local authorities to provide appropriate local youth services will be announced in due course. We believe they are best placed to know what is required in their communities.</p><p> </p><p>On 10th July this year, my department launched the review of the guidance which sets out the statutory duty placed on local authorities to provide appropriate local youth services. Preliminary roundtables were held with youth sector organisations and young people through the Government’s Youth Steering Group, focussing on the strengths and weaknesses of the current guidance. This does not include a definition of extremism but sets Ofcom a wider duty to protect the public from harmful and offensive material, and directs Ofcom to set content standards, through a code, for television and radio. For charities to thrive, the sector needs a strong and effective regulator. Last year additional government funding of £5m per year was agreed in recognition of the growing pressures on the Commission’s core regulatory functions, particularly registration and compliance. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/03/2019 answer text <p>The Charity Commission have scrutinised the Garden Bridge Trust trustees’ conduct and the management of the charity carefully and continue to monitor the charity’s progress in winding up. The Charity Commission intends to publish a concluding report on the running of the Garden Bridge Trust. This is to set out wider lessons policy makers and others can draw from it.</p><p> </p><p>It is important to note the Charity Commission has a specific role to look at the extent to which trustees are meeting their legal duties and whether charities are complying with charity law. This was set out in the Civil Society Strategy and announced by Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for the Cabinet Office, David Lidington.</p><p> </p><p>This includes a project to extend the application of the Social Value Act across central government departments from services to also include goods and works.
