answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/01/2021 answer text <p>The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is the UK’s independent regulator for data protection and is responsible for providing advice and guidance on compliance with the UK’s data protection laws.</p><p>The ICO has created a data protection and coronavirus information hub to help individuals and organisations navigate data protection during this unprecedented time, available at: <a href="https://ico.org.uk/global/data-protection-and-coronavirus-information-hub/" target="_blank">https://ico.org.uk/global/data-protection-and-coronavirus-information-hub/</a>. The Hub includes advice for people about how and when organisations can process their personal data during the coronavirus pandemic and how to keep their personal data safe.</p><p>The ICO has also published specific guidance for employers on the rules in relation to monitoring of employees. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/02/2021 answer text <p>The Government has worked closely with industry throughout the pandemic and agreed a set of commitments with the UK’s major broadband and mobile operators to support vulnerable consumers during the Covid-19 period. Providers committed to working with customers who are finding it difficult to pay their bill as a result of Covid-19 to ensure that they are treated fairly and appropriately supported. Providers also committed to removing fixed broadband data caps, in addition to providing new and generous landline and mobile offers, such as free or low cost mobile data boosts.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>There are already social tariffs available which offer low cost landline and broadband services for those on certain means-tested benefits. This should include business meetings, visitors coming for journalistic or media purposes and short-term study. Some Member States may also allow additional activities without a visa beyond those stipulated in the Schengen rules. However, Member States can require a visa for what they regard as a paid activity. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/02/2021 answer text <p>The CJEU Judgement of 6 October 2020 relates to a previous power, Section 94 Directions under the Telecommunications Act 1984, that has since been replaced by provisions in the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 (IPA). The IPA sets strict requirements of necessity and proportionality for the use of these powers, and provides significant safeguards and independent oversight. All warrants permitting the use of these powers are subject to the ‘double lock’ safeguard requiring that an independent Judicial Commissioner approve the Secretary of State’s decision before the warrant is issued. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/02/2021 answer text <p>Government has provided unprecedented support to businesses through tax reliefs, cash grants and employee wage support, which many sport clubs have benefited from. On 22 October 2020, the Government also announced a £100m support fund for local authority leisure centres. We have no plans to provide additional bespoke support for indoor tennis centres.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, Sport England’s Community Emergency Fund has provided £220 million directly to support community sport clubs and exercise centres through this pandemic. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/01/2021 answer text <p>This Government recognises the importance of the UK’s cultural industries, and that is why we pushed for ambitious arrangements to make it easier for performers and artists to perform across Europe as part of the negotiations on our future relationship with the EU.</p><p>During the negotiations with the EU, the UK proposed measures, developed in consultation with the creative industries, that would have allowed creative professionals to travel and perform in the UK and the EU more easily, without needing work-permits. Specifically, we proposed to capture the work done by musicians, artists and entertainers, and their accompanying staff through the list of permitted activities for short-term business visitors. Regrettably, these proposals were rejected by the EU.</p><p>There is scope to return to this issue in the future should the EU change its mind. The Government is looking at whether we can work with our partners in EU Member States to find ways to make life easier for those working in the creative industries in our respective countries.</p><p>We are also undertaking an extensive programme of engagement with the industry to assess impacts and support these sectors in understanding new requirements.
