answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/01/2021 answer text <p>The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is the UK’s independent regulator for data protection and is responsible for providing advice and guidance on compliance with the UK’s data protection laws.</p><p>The ICO has created a data protection and coronavirus information hub to help individuals and organisations navigate data protection during this unprecedented time, available at: <a href="https://ico.org.uk/global/data-protection-and-coronavirus-information-hub/" target="_blank">https://ico.org.uk/global/data-protection-and-coronavirus-information-hub/</a>. The Hub includes advice for people about how and when organisations can process their personal data during the coronavirus pandemic and how to keep their personal data safe.</p><p>The ICO has also published specific guidance for employers on the rules in relation to monitoring of employees. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/02/2021 answer text <p>In the UK-EU trade negotiations, the EU tabled a proposal for a permanent visa waiver for short stays covering UK and EU citizens. This drew on bilateral agreements the EU has with some other third countries, such as Columbia, Peru and the UAE. Accepting a permanent short stay visa waiver for all current and future EU Member States was not, and is not, compatible with our manifesto commitment to take back control of our borders. The UK’s Trade and Cooperation Agreement with the EU confirms that both the UK and EU currently provide for visa-free travel for short-term visits for each other’s nationals in accordance with their respective laws. The UK’s points-based immigration system has been developed in the national interest.</p><p>The EU’s proposal was accompanied by a Joint Declaration intended to direct those Member States who currently require short stay visas for “paid activities” to waive that requirement for “artists performing an activity on an ad-hoc basis”. This offer would not have met the needs of touring musicians: it did not deal with work permits at all, and would not have allowed support staff to tour with artists. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/02/2021 answer text <p>The Government has made available an unprecedented £750 million package of support, specifically for charities, social enterprises and the voluntary sector. This will ensure charities at risk of financial hardship can continue their vital work supporting the country during the coronavirus outbreak.</p><p>The Government has also made available a package of support across the economy, designed to enable organisations to get through the months ahead. Businesses that are mandated to close by law due to the current national restrictions can access grants of up to £4,500 per 6 weeks of closure through the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) Addendum.</p><p>In addition, closed businesses may be eligible for a one-off payment of up to £9,000 to help them through spring, through the Closed Business Lockdown Payment. Where the business in question, e.g. a charity shop, is mandated to close in the regulations and they meet the other eligibility criteria laid out in scheme guidance, then they would be eligible for the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) and variations of that scheme. Increasing the value of Gift Aid would break the link with tax that has been paid; this means it would no longer be a tax relief, but a grant to charities which is based solely on the amount of Gift Aid that they claim. It covers a range of issues around identifying consumers in vulnerable situations and assessing affordability.</p><p>The Commission is working to obtain a wide range of evidence and will be led by the evidence it receives in deciding how to proceed. It has extended the consultation by a month to allow for more evidence to be submitted. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/02/2021 answer text <p>The Government has worked closely with industry throughout the pandemic and agreed a set of commitments with the UK’s major broadband and mobile operators to support vulnerable consumers during the Covid-19 period. Providers committed to working with customers who are finding it difficult to pay their bill as a result of Covid-19 to ensure that they are treated fairly and appropriately supported. Providers also committed to removing fixed broadband data caps, in addition to providing new and generous landline and mobile offers, such as free or low cost mobile data boosts.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>There are already social tariffs available which offer low cost landline and broadband services for those on certain means-tested benefits. In addition, we have committed a £750 million of targeted support to enable voluntary and community sector organisations to maintain and enhance services for those affected by the crisis during this difficult time.
