Ensuring the sector remains strong and at the forefront of innovation is a priority for us. We published the UK Digital Strategyin March 2017, with further investment of over £500m into emerging tech announced in the November 2017 Budget and Industrial Strategy. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/01/2018 answer text <p>The NCS innovation programme was established in 2017 to identify new ways to grow and improve NCS, and to increase value for money for taxpayers. The programme is administered and evaluated by NCS Trust.</p><p> </p><p>Early pilots have demonstrated some positive impacts. For example, a pilot run in conjunction with the Behavioural Insights Team found that young people who are given a “buddy” before NCS are up to 6% more likely to turn up on programme, reducing unfilled places and unit cost. Another found that when specialist one-to-one support was provided to young people with complex needs, including young people referred through social services, Youth Offending services or Looked After Children services, 72% were able to complete NCS, which brings this group into line with average completion rates.</p><p> </p><p>In 2018, NCS Trust will continue to pilot and evaluate new ways to improve the programme, including through new partnerships with sector organisations such as the Scouts and Sea Cadets. <strong> </strong></p> answering member constituency Chatham and Aylesford answering member printed Tracey Crouch question first answered 11/01/2018 13:35:51 answering member 3950 label Biography information for Dame Tracey Crouch

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/01/2018 answer text <p>The Government's Superfast Broadband Programme has provided access to superfast broadband (speeds of more than 24Mbps) to over 4.65 million premises that would otherwise not have got it. The National Council for Voluntary Organisations estimate that in 2014/15 charities received between £350-450 million of EU funding. Estimates for 2016 are not yet available.</p><p> </p><p>There are a wide range of EU funding schemes that charities and social enterprises access.
