Events businesses can apply for a variety of generous Government backed loan schemes, including the Recovery Loan scheme from 6 April. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/04/2021 answer text <p>My Department is taking a number of steps to encourage tourism across the country once restrictions are eased, including in Wolverhampton and the West Midlands.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Global Travel Taskforce last year committed the Government to publish a Tourism Recovery Plan in support of the sector. The Government intends to set out proposals in the Spring, including plans for a marketing campaign to welcome visitors back to the UK as soon as it is safe to do so.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>We are working with VisitBritain, VisitEngland and local partners to champion the UK’s diverse tourism offer through the Escape the Everyday campaign.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>We will continue to work with industry to provide assurance regarding when people can safely visit attractions - as demonstrated through the We’re Good to Go industry standard, which has been used by over 45,000 businesses, including many in the West Midlands.</p><p> </p><p>The March Budget included £700m of extra funding to support our world-leading arts, culture and sporting institutions - protecting the venues which make the UK an attractive destination to visit.</p><p>In total, over £25bn has been provided to the tourism, leisure and hospitality sectors in the form of grants, loans and tax breaks.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Mid Worcestershire answering member printed Nigel Huddleston question first answered 28/04/2021 09:57:41 answering member 4407 label Biography information for Nigel Huddleston

This decision was reached following a public consultation and having taken into account all of the views and evidence submitted. Reopening the inquiry is no longer appropriate, proportionate, or in the public interest. This position was reiterated in the 2019 Conservative manifesto.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The media landscape has changed significantly since the Leveson Inquiry. Today, our press is facing new and critical challenges that threaten its livelihood and sustainability.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Inquiry and subsequent police investigations were comprehensive. More than 300 people gave evidence to the Inquiry, and over 40 people were convicted during the three major investigations. There have been extensive reforms to policing practices as well as significant changes to press self-regulation.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>There now exists a strengthened, independent, self-regulatory system for the press. The majority of traditional publishers—including 95% of national newspapers by circulation—are members of IPSO. In February 2020, Ofcom introduced new rules to ensure that customers receive important information about their communications service when their contract is due to end.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>As the contract end date approaches, providers must inform their customers on: the date their contract ends; the services currently provided and the price paid; any changes to the service and price paid at the end of this period; and information about the notice period required to terminate the contract. Providers must also include information on prices available to other customers, such as new customers. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/04/2021 answer text <p>The Government has committed to taking a cautious approach to easing restrictions, guided by data rather than dates, to avoid a surge in infections that could put unsustainable pressure on the NHS. The roadmap sets out indicative, “no earlier than” dates for each step which are five weeks apart. This allows four weeks for the data to begin to reflect the impact of the previous step and a further week’s notice for individuals and businesses to prepare. ‘<a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/news/prime-minister-sets-out-roadmap-to-cautiously-ease-lockdown-restrictions" target="_blank">COVID-19 Response - Spring 2021</a>’ sets out a roadmap out of the current lockdown in England. Each full step of our roadmap will be informed by the latest available science and data and will be five weeks apart in order to provide time to assess the data and provide one week’s notice to businesses and individuals.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>We will ensure that interim results gathered from research programmes are fed into policy development swiftly to avoid missing reopening opportunities because of insufficient data.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Current guidance for DCMS sectors in relation to Covid-19 is available on <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/guidance-for-dcms-sectors-in-relation-to-coronavirus-covid-19" target="_blank">gov.uk </a>and we will continue to provide updated guidance on reopening safely as we progress through the Steps of the roadmap.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Department for Digital, Culture, Media &amp; Sport owns the overarching guidance for grassroots and elite sport and is working closely with other government departments to ensure the return of spectators is covid-secure.
