That includes ensuring that people understand what information about them is being processed and why, and respecting their rights to access and erase their data, where appropriate. That is why the government has ensured that the BBC’s operating licence stipulates that it must reflect the UK population in its services and its output. The Communications Act 2003 also ensures that Ofcom has the power to promote equality of opportunity for disabled people in television and radio. answer text <p>Responsibility for the provision of local youth services lies with local authorities. Many local authorities have youth participation functions, including youth councils, and there are youth service models, such as mutuals, which offer young people a major role in the design and delivery of services.</p><p> </p><p>Nationally, DCMS provides funding to the British Youth Council to run the UK Youth Parliament and other youth voice activities, where young people can have their say about a range of issues. We also actively seek to involve young people in the design and delivery of programmes, such as the Youth Investment Fund and recently involved young people in the consultation of the forthcoming Civil Society Strategy.</p> more like this

Effective suicide bereavement services should be provided through local partnerships between local authorities, NHS organisations and voluntary and charitable sector providers. The NHS Choices website provides advice on accessing support for people who have been bereaved.</p><p> </p><p>The charity GambleAware, which funds research, education and treatment for gambling addiction, has published a Strategic Delivery Plan for 2018-2020. answer text <p>Local authorities in England have a statutory duty to provide a comprehensive and efficient library service. Local authorities currently receive their funding from a number of sources, including grants from central government, council tax and other locally generated fees and charges for services.</p><p> </p><p>It is for individual local authorities to decide how to use their funds, including how best to provide a public library service that meets local needs within available resources. In 2016/17 Coventry City Council made a net investment of £4.7m in its library service, while across the West Midlands the net investment in public libraries by local authorities was £74.5 million.</p><p> </p><p>DCMS will continue to work across central and local government to encourage investment in libraries to ensure that they continue to support delivery of local and national priorities and needs.</p> more like this
