As per the <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/news/cultural-venues-to-receive-128-million-to-improve-access-to-arts-and-culture" target="_blank">announcement</a> in May 2022, CDF rounds 3 and 4 will see up to £49.4m of further capital investment in innovative cultural and creative projects outside London over the Spending Review period 2022/23 - 2024/25.</p><p>CDF round 3 was launched in May 2022. Decisions relating to the care and management of the museum's collections are a matter for the Trustees of the British Museum. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/09/2022 answer text <p>DCMS jointly funds the #iwill Fund together with The National Lottery Community Fund (TNLCF) to provide youth social action opportunities for young people aged 10-20. Over £54m has been jointly invested into the Fund since 2016, which has been matched on at least a 1:1 basis by the delivery organisations, doubling the initial investment. A further £12m of DCMS and TNLCF funding was announced in July 2022.</p><p>The #iwill Fund contributes to the delivery of the National Youth Guarantee, which will also offer The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award to all mainstream secondary schools in England, tackle non-military Uniformed Youth Group waiting lists and continue delivering the National Citizen Service (NCS) programme. All of these programmes provide volunteering opportunities for young people.</p><p><strong><br></strong>In addition, through the £7.4m Volunteering Futures Fund, DCMS is creating more volunteering opportunities to improve the accessibility of volunteering in arts, culture, sports, civil society, youth and heritage sectors. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/09/2022 answer text <p>Volunteering is critical to a vibrant and resilient civil society; it benefits volunteers and the organisations involving them and has transformational impacts on beneficiaries and their communities.</p><p>This Government is committed to enabling people to take part in all forms of social action, including volunteering. We know the profound benefit that volunteering has on the individual, on communities and on society.</p><p>Volunteers do not have a contract of employment as a volunteer, so do not have the same rights as an employee or worker. However, they will usually be given a volunteer agreement that explains:</p><ul><li><p>the level of supervision and support they will get</p></li><li><p>what training they will get</p></li><li><p>whether they are covered under the organisation’s employer or public liability insurance</p></li><li><p>health and safety issues</p></li><li><p>any expenses the organisation will cover.</p></li></ul><p>The volunteer agreement is not a contract, but it is a good way of setting out what volunteers can expect from the organisation they are volunteering for. The UK is currently providing financial support through DCMS’s flagship Cultural Protection Fund, a partnership with the British Council. This covers among other activities the documentation of damage to cultural heritage, safeguarding Ukraine’s cultural heritage in-situ, and supporting Ukrainian artists and cultural practitioners.</p><p>DCMS officials are also working across Government to ensure that cultural heritage protection is integrated into all relevant apparatus around war crimes. It will produce recommendations on the UK’s compute capability over the next decade, and report to the Chancellor of the Exchequer and Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. The <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/future-of-compute-review" target="_blank">terms of reference</a> can be found on gov.uk, and outline the objectives, outputs and themes that will be covered by the review.</p><p>Zoubin Ghahramani, Professor of Information Engineering at the University of Cambridge and Vice President of Research at Google, was appointed to lead the review. Professor Ghahramani was selected because of his strong credentials in both the applications and fundamentals of computer science, and experience of working in public and private sector capacities.</p><p>The lead reviewer will be supported by a panel of experts from across the computing field. These experts will help provide high level oversight and quality assurance of the evidence supporting the final recommendations, similar to the approach taken for previous reviews.
