answer text
The UK Government does not hold this information. The European Research Council (ERC) supports excellent science across all areas of research. It is therefore not possible to isolate the exact amount of funding the UK has received for all research projects that have relevance to cancer research. Details of all ERC funded projects can be found on their website: https://erc.europa.eu/projects-and-results/erc-funded-projects

more like this

answer text
The UK Government does not hold this information. Many of the projects funded under the EU’s seventh framework programme were interdisciplinary and covered a number of themes, which will have included cancer research. It is therefore not possible to identify the projects and associated funding that relate specifically to cancer research.

more like this

answer text
The Government is committed to maintain and enhance the strength of our research base. This is why we have protected the science resource budget in real terms from its 2015/16 level of £4.7 billion for the rest of the parliament, as well as committing to invest in new scientific infrastructure on a record scale – £6.9 billion over the period 2015-2021.

The Treasury decision to underwrite the grants of competitively bid for EU research funding will give British participants and their EU partners the assurance and certainty needed to plan ahead for collaborative projects that can run over many years. We are committed to ensure that the UK continues to be a world leader in international science, including medical research into cancer.

more like this
