Officials are working with the Devolved Administrations, Overseas Territories, Crown Dependencies and Local Resilience Forums. The General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act came into effect in the UK in 2018 and enshrines key principles of purpose limitation and data minimisation in the processing of personal data.
