answer text <p>Data on the diagnoses of, and deaths due to, silicosis is collected by the Health and Safety Executive and the Office for National Statistics. ‘Silicosis and coal workers’ pneumoconiosis statistics in Great Britain, contains the latest data of the estimated number of new cases and the number of recorded deaths</p><p> </p><p>2016: 16 diagnoses and 11 deaths.</p><p>2017: 12 diagnoses and 8 deaths.</p><p>2018: 24 diagnoses and 11 deaths.</p><p>2019: 27 diagnoses and 12 deaths.</p><p>2020: 17 diagnoses and 10 deaths</p><p> </p><p>The number of cases for 2020 is likely to have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. There are typically between 10 and 20 annual deaths in recent years, with an average of 12 per year over the last 10 years.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Health Protection (Notification) Regulations 2010 provide public health protection in England and place a statutory duty to notify the appropriate authority of certain infectious diseases and causative agents, such as COVID-19. This enables prompt investigation, risk assessment and response by specified bodies to cases of infectious disease or contamination that pose a significant risk to human health. <br>Silicosis is not an infectious disease or causative agent which presents or could present significant harm to human health. Therefore, it cannot be included under Schedule 1 or 2 of the regulations, as the powers are limited in accordance with the Public Health (Control of Diseases) Act 1984. Instead, it is associated with occupational exposure to respirable crystalline silica. The Health and Safety Executive recommend health surveillance should be considered for workers involved in high-risk occupations, such as construction and foundry work.</p> more like this

In Ukraine, as well as other countries currently hosting millions of refugees from Ukraine, we are working closely with delivery partners to protect the most vulnerable from the dangers of modern slavery. answer text <p>The Environment Agency (EA) keeps a close eye on the water situation in England and continues to work with water companies and other abstractors to monitor water resources to inform how much water is available.</p><p> </p><p>Water availability has been significantly affected by the current drought.</p><p> </p><p>During warm dry weather, demand for water also increases. It is largely due to increases in outdoor domestic water use. In the 2018 drought, a study across 15 water companies found companies experienced peak demands of between 120 per cent and 250 per cent above the previous year.</p><p> </p><p>Essential water supplies remain secure, but water company supply is deteriorating, particularly for South West Water, Yorkshire Water and Severn Trent Water.
