answer text <p>The Open Doors campaign formed a key part of our work to help UK agriculture food and drink businesses seize new export opportunities. The programme of educational masterclass and mentoring programmes engaged over 100 food producers. The campaign highlighted the help available to companies from government and the wider industry network.</p><p> </p><p>We continue to support agriculture food and drink exports through Department for International Trade (DIT) services such as the Export Support Service, the Export Academy, UK Export Finance, our International Trade Advisers across England and DIT teams in all parts of the UK.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Department for International Trade’s Export Support Service provide specialist overseas support to small-and-medium-sized UK enterprises looking to export and grow in African markets, including Somaliland. The free support service, which is offered to high export potential businesses, entails tailored consultations with in-market specialists and off-the-shelf market intelligence on specific sectors and country markets. Since launching the service in Africa in August 2021, the team have serviced three enquiries from UK businesses needing support in exporting into Somaliland.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, through British International Investment, the UK has made a significant investment in the development of Berbera Port.</p> more like this

answer text <p>All of the tradeshows in India that the Department for International Trade (DIT) had planned to support at the start of 2021 (January – March) via the old <strong>Tradeshow Access Programme</strong> were cancelled due to Covid. Tradeshows in India for the remainder of 2021 were also cancelled.</p><p> </p><p>We are however making support available to UK businesses for them to attend and exhibit at a number of events in India for the remainder of 2022/23, via the new <strong>UK Tradeshow Programme</strong>.</p><p> </p><p>DIT actively supports businesses in a variety of ways to seek export opportunities in India.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The UK Government has secured trade agreements with 71 countries plus the EU. These partners accounted for 63% (£808bn) of UK bilateral trade in 2021. This includes agreements with Australia and New Zealand as well as the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement and the UK-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which goes beyond continuity.</p><p> </p><p>The Department for International Trade’s comprehensive Free Trade Agreement programme continues at unprecedented pace, with trade negotiations currently live with seven markets – India, the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), India and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Canada, Mexico, Israel and Greenland.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Ministerial transparency returns publish costs incurred specifically by departmental Ministers. This uses a different methodology than asked in the subsequent parliamentary questions, about the overall cost to the public purse.</p><p> </p><p>There were some ancillary costs incurred by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) overseas embassy team (billed separately), related to the costs incurred by the Department for International Trade (DIT). This included the cost of translation services.</p><p> </p><p>In the interests of transparency, the Department will update the DIT return with the subsequent ancillary FCDO costs.</p> more like this
