In 2018 we consulted on Accessible Information Regulations with plans to require the provision of accessible on-board information on local bus services throughout Great Britain.</p><p>In the 2021 National Bus Strategy for England ‘Bus Back Better’, we announced, subject to final analysis, that we will introduce regulations by Summer 2022 requiring bus companies to provide audible and visual announcements onboard their services in Great Britain.</p><p>We have also pledged to provide £3.5 million of targeted funding to support smaller operators to provide audio and visible information, ensuring passengers benefit from it soon as possible.</p> answering member constituency Daventry answering member printed Chris Heaton-Harris question first answered 23/07/2021 11:36:52 answering member 3977 label Biography information for Chris Heaton-Harris

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/07/2021 answer text <p>The process for renewing driving licences, including for those with medical conditions, has not changed.</p><p>The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency’s (DVLA) online services have been available throughout the pandemic and are the quickest and easiest way to renew a driving licence.</p><p>Paper renewal applications will take longer. Ongoing industrial action by members of the Public and Commercial Services union, fewer operational staff on site at the DVLA to allow for social distancing in line with Welsh Government requirements and an increased demand for services has led to delays in dealing with paper applications.</p><p>The DVLA has recently trialed a simplified renewal process for some medical conditions. This has significantly reduced turnaround times for some drivers. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/07/2021 answer text <p>The success of vaccine deployment has paved the way for the gradual lifting of restrictions and this marks a new phase in the pandemic response where people manage the risks to themselves and others as the country learns to live with the virus. The Safer Transport Guidance for Operators contains non-statutory guidance that does not supersede any legal obligations relating to health and safety, employment or equalities and it is important that operators continue to comply with existing obligations and conduct risk assessments to identify any specific actions they need to take.</p><p>At step 4, social distancing rules were lifted, and the public will no longer need to stay 2 metres apart from people they do not live with. Guidance also sets out that the Government expects and recommends that people wear face coverings in crowded areas such as public transport. It will be open for individual operators to consider developing their own face covering policies if they wish to do so.
