We became co-chair of the Equal Rights Coalition (ERC) in June last year, in partnership with Argentina. The ERC is a group of 42 like-minded States that share best practice and promote LGBT equality globally. Our plan is to deliver an ERC Strategy and Action Plan to re-energise the ERC. I attended international meetings on the Sahel earlier this month and in Mauritania in February. I stressed the importance of improving governance and respecting human rights.</p><p>As part of our efforts, the UK is deploying 250 peacekeeping troops to Mali and has 3 RAF Chinook helicopters deployed to a Counter Terrorism operation. We are also one of largest humanitarian donors to the Sahel. The Government took steps during the election to protect the safety and security of our democratic processes. The Government worked with a large number of organisations to do this, and would like to thank them for their continued support and work in this area.</p><p>As you would expect, the Government examines all aspects of the electoral process, and that work is ongoing. I have previously written to the International Maritime Organization asking for an international solution to this issue, confirming the UK’s position on crew changes, and also urged other countries to allow crew changes to take place. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/07/2020 answer text <p>The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends opioids for routine use where evidence supports this, such as in its guideline on palliative care for adults: strong opioids for pain relief [CG140].</p><p>NICE is currently developing a guideline on the safe prescribing and withdrawal management of prescribed drugs associated with dependence and withdrawal [GID-NG10141], which will consider opioids, and on chronic pain: assessment and management [GID-NG10069]. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/07/2020 answer text <p>In the NHS Long Term Plan, the Government committed to modernising the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme to detect and treat more cancers earlier by lowering the starting age for bowel screening from 60 to 50, following the UK National Screening Committee’s recommendation in August 2018.</p><p>NHS England and NHS Improvement and Public Health England agree that a phased approach is required to safely introduce this change, allowing capacity and resources (financial, facilities and accredited workforce) to be built into the system. NHS England has advised that this will be reviewed if there is an application presented by a clinical lead, with published evidence demonstrating its effectiveness.
