<p>The Government conducted a comprehensive, evidence-based review into the telecoms
supply chain, which was published in July 2019. The final conclusions of the Government’s
Telecoms Supply Chain Review in relation to high risk vendors were announced on 28
January and provided the details of the additional steps it will be necessary to take
to mitigate the risk from high risk vendors. This announcement made clear the Government’s
intention to, over time, reduce our reliance on high risk vendors as market diversification
takes place. We want to get to a position where we do not have to use a high risk
vendor in our telecoms networks at all.</p><p> </p><p>The conclusions of the Review
were based on security analysis from our world-leading cybersecurity experts, and
took into account the full range of issues and risks.</p><p> </p>
