HMG takes the secure use of mobile phones very seriously and advice on how to securely manage mobile devices is published by the National Cyber Security Centre. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/05/2019 answer text <p>The British government has been in close consultation with the Government of Brunei and has ensured the necessary protections are in place with the Government of Brunei to mitigate against any issues that might arise from the introduction of the final phases of the Sharia Penal Code. British Forces have been instructed to conform to all Foreign and Commonwealth Office travel advice. We encourage all British passport holders visiting Brunei to read the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's travel advice pages which are updated on a regular basis.</p><p>On 5 May, the Sultan of Brunei confirmed that the de facto moratorium on the death penalty will apply to the Sharia Penal Code and committed Brunei to ratifying the United Nations Convention Against Torture. We have welcomed these announcements. The Sultan’s assurances confirm the value of addressing sensitive issues such as this, through respectful dialogue and diplomacy and, in that vein, we continue to encourage Brunei to remove corporal and capital punishments from its statues. This includes providing specific support to those who<br>suffer with mental health problems. This approach enables employees experiencing mental ill<br>health to remain in work or return to work following a period of absence and includes<br>recommendations for workplace adjustments and signposting to other mental health services</p><p>The Civil Service has a network of an estimated 4,600 Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA’s) or<br>equivalent who are equipped with the knowledge to recognise early symptoms and provide initial<br>help to colleagues experiencing mental health concerns</p><p>All departments have access to Occupational Health Services, which provide support and advice to<br>managers and employees in respect of mental ill health. The Civil Service also provides access for<br>all employees to Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) or equivalent, for counselling and other<br>mental health support</p><p>In addition, the Civil Service has improved its use of data to monitor and respond to mental health<br>trends in the workplace, raised awareness and enhanced the range of workplace adjustments<br>available to staff with poor mental health. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/06/2019 answer text <p>The department has been continually assessing the resourcing levels required to prepare for EU Exit across all possible scenarios, developing contingency plans in line with government policy. It is not possible to provide the number of staff who have been moved from normal duties. This is because staff are generally engaged across a range of workstreams, which will include business as usual activity as well as EU Exit preparations, across all scenarios.</p><p>To release existing capacity on to specialist roles to support the UK’s exit from the EU in an orderly manner, the Home Office took a number of reprioritisation choices in early 2019 to release capacity on to critical EU Exit roles. This was undertaken as part of a cross-government reprioritisation exercise.</p><p>As a general principle, reprioritisation decisions within the Home Office focussed on areas of its domestic work which could be scaled back or slowed, thus alleviating the need to halt these areas of work in their entirety whilst fulfilling the need to release the required numbers of specialist resource on to critical EU Exit roles.</p><p>To minimise the overall demand for internal reprioritisation, the Home Office also sought to secure resource through the Cabinet Office clearing hub, a government-wide initiative set up to meet the demands of EU Exit through cross-departmental redeployment of resource across policy and operational delivery roles.</p> answering member constituency Louth and Horncastle answering member printed Victoria Atkins question first answered 07/06/2019 13:33:23 answering member 4399 label Biography information for Victoria Atkins

In light of the Article 50 extension to the 31<sup>st</sup> of October, the Department has revaluated its portfolio work and is in the process of deprioritising these people. Of the original 532 people, 167 continue to support this critical EU-Exit work as of the 28<sup>th</sup> of May.
