<p>It is a matter for train operators or other contracting bodies, in awarding their own rolling stock contracts, to ensure they are compliant with any applicable procurement legislation and to set relevant evaluation criteria. Where the Government has led procurements of new trains in the past these have been run in accordance with statutory procurement rules.</p><p> </p>
