answer text <p>We are currently analysing the responses from the Call for Evidence on controlling live exports of farm animals for slaughter and how to improve animal welfare during transport once the UK leaves the EU. We also asked the Farm Animal Welfare Committee (FAWC) to look at what improvements could be made to the transport regulatory regime for all animals. We hope to receive the recommendations from the FAWC later in the year. In light of the evidence obtained and the FAWC report, we are planning to issue a Consultation setting out proposed policy reforms.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Retailers and manufacturers can already get tax relief on food they donate. Companies can get tax relief on trading stock that is produced but not sold. This includes food donated to charities - the cost of producing stock which is donated is deducted from their profits before tax is calculated.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The issue of food waste will continue to be a priority for the UK. The Coalition has destroyed thousands of Daesh targets, interdicting resupply and reinforcement efforts, preventing Daesh's ability to counter attack.</p><p>UK teams have helped train over 75,000 Iraqi Security Forces, increasing their capacity to defeat Daesh. answer text <p>Ministers and the British Ambassador to the Maldives regularly engage with the Government of Maldives about improving the country's democratic processes. On 19 April, I wrote to the Foreign Minister to request that his Government take all steps necessary to re-establish democratic norms, restore the independence of Parliament and the courts, release all political prisoners and engage in a genuine dialogue with leaders of Opposition parties. I also noted that the UK stood ready to support Maldives in taking these steps. We continue to call on the Government of Maldives to respect fundamental freedoms, including freedom of assembly and speech. Most recently, the UK raised Maldives in our UN Human Rights Council statement on 19 June 2018.</p> more like this

answer text <p>We regularly engage the Philippines Government on tensions in the South China Sea. Our Ambassador in Manila often raises the South China Sea with a range of stakeholders, most recently with the Acting Chief Justice, Antonio Carpio. In May the FCO Permanent Under-Secretary raised the matter with Enrique Manalo, the Philippines Under-Secretary at the Department of Foreign Affairs. We underscored the importance of the rule of law and freedom of navigation and overflight.</p><p>The UK does not take sides or support any sovereignty claim over another. Our commitment is to international law and freedom of navigation and overflight. The UK is opposed to militarisation of the South China Sea. We urge all parties to respect freedom of navigation and settle their disputes peacefully in accordance with international law.</p> more like this
