In the initial new claim interview, work coaches are trained to offer personal budgeting support and assess whether claimants need help to manage until their first Universal Credit payment. The UK has led the international community in mobilising support for Syrian refugees, including by co-hosting pledging conferences in London (2016) and Brussels (2017). The UK has provided £466 million to support Syrian refugees in Lebanon and the Lebanese host communities.
