<p>We are aware that a number of Non-Governmental Organisations and other organisations in Turkey have had their operations halted for three months by the authorities on the grounds of suspected terror links. Civil society is an extremely important component of any democratic society and we are monitoring developments closely, as well as regularly raising our human rights concerns with the Turkish authorities.</p>
