motion text That this House congratulates the All Party Parliamentary Group for Disability for its work with Changing Places; further congratulates Zack Kerr from Accrington for his petition calling on Government investment to help fund the building of more Changing Places toilets in motorway service stations which received 145,000 signatures; welcomes the Government's response to invest £2 million to build Changing Places toilets in motorway service stations; notes that there is more to do ensure everyone has the dignity in accessing adequate toilet facilities outside of the home; asserts that there is a great disparity of provision in different parts of the UK; further notes that overwhelming majority of Government and local authority buildings, hospitals, GP surgeries, sporting venues, restaurants, pubs, train stations and large shops do not contain a Changing Places toilet; and calls on the Government to raise awareness by providing Government guidance on the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, undertaking a public information campaign and calling on all owners and operators of buildings used by the public to install Changing Places toilets.

motion text That this House congratulates Gareth Southgate and the England men's football team for qualifying to the UEFA Nations League finals in Portugal in June 2019 by beating Spain and Croatia; notes that this new official UEFA competition has significant standing as a major competitive international trophy; further notes that the tournament has gripped the public imagination after an already successful year for the England men's football team; notes that the team could win its first trophy since 1966 in next year's finals; notes that UEFA has given exclusive broadcast rights in the UK to the pay-per-view channel Sky Sport; notes that The Broadcasting Act 1996, as amended, gives the Secretary of State the power to draw up a list of sporting events of national interest; believes that the UEFA Nations League finals are of national interest and within the scope of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport definition of a listed event as one which is generally felt to have special national resonance and which contains an element which serves to unite the nation, a shared point on the national calendar, not solely of interest to those who follow the sport in question; and calls on the Government to include the Nations League Finals as a listed event.

motion text That this House acknowledges recent reports in Die Spiegel newspaper that association football clubs in the UK are planning to break away from UEFA Champions League and form a new group that would be known as the European Super League; expresses concern at these plans and the damaging effect it could have on football across the UK, particularly grassroots football; notes this proposal is based on ongoing greed by the top clubs; opposes such changes and the underhand manner in which the European Super League clubs have discussed this issue; and calls on the Government along with the Football Association, the Premier League and the English Football League to take the necessary measures to prevent such an initiative. more like this

motion text That this House notes the recently-made decision by the BBC to cancel the Sunday Politics television show in its current form and the wider cuts made to the news and current affairs section as a result of wider savings the Corporation is undertaking; recognises the importance of high-quality journalism to ensure that holders of public office are properly held to account; further notes that one of the Corporation's public purposes as stated in its 2016 Royal Charter is to provide impartial news and information to help people understand and engage with the world around them; and calls on the Director-General of the BBC to consult more widely on this proposal. more like this

motion text That this House notes the recently held presidential election in Venezuela and worldwide condemnation of its legitimacy and subsequent outcome, the deteriorating human rights situation and collapse of democracy along with constitutional changes that mean effective opposition is impossible in the country; joins with the rest of the international community to condemn the legitimacy of the result and the continued presidency of Nicolas Maduro; supports the sanctions by the US and EU to prevent senior figures in the regime from profiting from their political power; and calls on the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs to continue to press for further sanctions against that regime. more like this

motion text That this House believes that there is an inadequate standard of mental health care in East Lancashire; notes the plans to close Mersey Care Specialist Learning Disability Division in Whalley, East Lancashire previously known as Calderstones Hospital; recognises the vital service that this hospital provides to patients and their families from across Lancashire; expresses concern that its closure will leave a shortage in medium and low secure mental health beds in East Lancashire resulting in the loss of local jobs; further expresses concern that since 2007, £13 million has been spent on the new unit; further notes that the Division is rated as good by the Care Quality Commission; further believes that there has been inadequate consultation; expresses real concern that the new unit will be a considerable distance away in Maghull, Merseyside; and calls on the Government to urge a review on this decision with NHS England and ensure that 700 current employees are found suitable new roles if Calderstones Hospital closes.
