As a consequence of the removal rates, microplastics were present at very low levels in drinking water. Their contribution to total daily exposure, and presenting a potential risk to human health, was likely to be low or insignificant. The World Health Organization has also recommended that routine monitoring of microplastics in drinking water was not necessary at this time.<\/p>"}

Self-employed people will also be able to claim Universal Credit at a rate equivalent to Statutory Sick Pay for employees and may be eligible for Contributory Employment and Support Allowance (which is now payable from the first day of sickness, rather than the eighth). We have also deferred Income Tax Self-Assessment payments due in July 2020, to January 2021.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>Following the Chancellor\u2019s latest announcement, the Government have introduced the Self-employment Income Support Scheme. This will support self-employed individuals, including members of partnerships, whose income has been negatively impacted by COVID-19. The scheme will provide a grant to self-employed individuals or partnerships, worth 80% of their profits up to a cap of £2,500 per month. HMRC is urgently working to deliver the scheme and we are expecting to start to pay grants by early June 2020.<\/p>"}

This is a software audit tool developed by and trialled in the National Health Service. It greatly simplifies the process of identifying patients with Atrial Fibrillation who are not receiving the right management to help reduce their risk of stroke. As of 31 October 2016:<\/p><p> <\/p><p>- 2,220 of 7,619 practices had uploaded data from the latest version of GRASP-AF;<\/p><p>- 152 of 209 (73%) clinical commissioning groups have at least one practice uploading data from the latest version of GRASP-AF; and<\/p><p>- 18 CCGs (9%) have 100% of practices uploading data.<\/p><p> <\/p><p>On 29 September 2016, NHS RightCare introduced an optimal value pathway on cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention. NHS RightCare is a programme committed to reducing unwarranted variation to improve people\u2019s health and outcomes and reduce inequalities in health access, experience and outcomes.<\/p><p>The CVD prevention pathway is the first in a series of optimal value pathways on a number of conditions. These evidence based pathways are being developed in close collaboration with NHS England\u2019s National Clinical Directors, Public Health England, the Royal Colleges, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and other non-statutory stakeholders, including patient groups.<\/p><p>NHS England\u2019s National Clinical Director for stroke is leading work to develop a full proposal which will consider the evidence and logistical issues involved in delivering mechanical thrombectomy to stroke patients across the country. This includes working with the relevant specialist societies, Royal Colleges and Health Education England to consider the workforce implications. Once the proposal has been developed, NHS England will decide whether the procedure should be made widely available.<\/p>"}

As with any medicine, mefloquine may cause side effects in some people and the potential risks should be balanced against the expected benefits of therapy. Information on possible side effects is available to the medical profession via the Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC), and to patients via the Patient Information Leaflet.<\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p>In 2013, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) strengthened the warnings in the mefloquine SmPC, particularly regarding the well-established risk of neuropsychiatric side effects. The licence holder (Roche) also issued a letter to healthcare professionals at the end of October 2013 to increase awareness of these possible risks, alongside a prescriber checklist and patient alert card to aid compliance with the warnings. In November 2013, the MHRA issued a further communication to healthcare professionals on the risks of mefloquine via its Drug Safety Update bulletin:<\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p>www.mhra.gov.uk/Safetyinformation/DrugSafetyUpdate/CON336723<\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p>As with all medicines, the MHRA will keep the safety of mefloquine under continual review.<\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p>The Advisory Committee for Malaria Prevention (ACMP) carefully considered all available data following the Food and Drug Administration\u2019s safety communication and subsequent modification of the SmPC by Roche in September 2013.
