While no formal assessment has been made of the impact of out of area placements, where inpatient stays are required, they should be short, close to home in a high quality, safe and therapeutic service.<\/p><p>The Mental Health Recovery Action Plan includes an additional £110 million in 2021/22 to expand adult community mental health services including psychological therapies, implementing the community mental health framework, investment in crisis services and suicide prevention programmes. We are also investing £87 million to provide enhanced discharge from inpatient mental health care, offering people who are well enough to leave hospital with additional support to help them recover in the community.<\/p>"}
