Many schemes included in Network North have been announced, with projects due to be delivered at various times over the next decade and beyond. Further information is available on the government website. For example:<\/p><ul><li>We have already extended the £2 national bus fare cap, which will now continue to December 2024. This has been backed by further Government investment of over £200 million reallocated from HS2 Phase 2. This means that almost £600 million will have been provided to continue capping single bus fares at £2 in England outside London until the end of 2024.<\/li><li>The Midlands Rail hub will now be fully funded. We are increasing investment to £1.75 billion, connecting more than 50 stations.<\/li><li>In December, we also announced £8.3 billion of additional highways maintenance funding over the period 2023 to 2034 and the next 11 years for local road resurfacing and wider maintenance.<\/li><li>The £4.7bn Local Transport Fund and allocations by local authority was announced on 26 February 2024, this provides transformative levels of funding for local authorities to spend on transport priorities in their areas.<\/li><\/ul><p> <\/p><p> <\/p><p> <\/p>"}

Schools have flexibility to determine how to deliver the new content, in the context of a broad and balanced curriculum. The Department expects that schools will take a variety of approaches and not limit the delivery to taught lessons.<\/p><p>To support schools in their preparations, the Department is investing in a central package to help all schools to increase the confidence and quality of their teaching practice. We are currently developing a new online service featuring innovative training materials, case studies and support to access resources. This will be available from April 2020 with additional content added through the summer term, covering all of the teaching requirements in the statutory guidance. We will also publish an implementation guide which will be provided to all schools as part of this service and face-to-face training offers will be available for schools that need additional support.<\/p><p>The Department is currently working with lead teachers, non-specialist teachers, schools and subject experts to develop this central programme of support to help ensure it meets the needs of schools and teachers. It will complement the wide range of training opportunities that are being provided by local authorities and sector organisations.<\/p>"}
