NHS England and the Department do not require or routinely collect information from National Health Service trusts and foundation trusts (also known as NHS providers) on the amount spent on developmental reviews of leadership and governance.

In September 2017 NHS England published guidance to help NHS providers to get the most out of development reviews including approaches to their procurement. NHS England has regular and ongoing discussions with NHS providers on a range of matters, including the learning from and value of developmental reviews of leadership and governance.

No assessment has been made of the potential merits of tasking officials in the Department with conducting development reviews. NHS England guidance, published in June 2017, highlights the importance of independent input into reviews and that in-depth, regular, and externally facilitated developmental reviews of leadership and governance are good practice across all industries.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4423", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Will Quince"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Colchester"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Will Quince"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2023-09-04", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "groupedQuestionUIN" : [{"_value" : "194853"} , {"_value" : "194855"} ], "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2023-09-04T08:04:58.62Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "17"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Health and Social Care"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Health and Social Care"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2023-07-18", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "NHS Trusts: Consultants"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps his Department is taking to monitor consultants conducting well-led reviews.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4471", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Rachael Maskell"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "York Central"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Rachael Maskell"} ], "uin" : "194854"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/46499", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Department for Education"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/46499/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "

We plan to continue to publish information on attainment and progress of pupils with special educational needs at national and local authority level. A new web portal, which is under development, will improve access to 16-18 performance data, including the core demographic information such as special educational needs that is currently available for primary and secondary schools.

Any pupils not able to access the relevant end of key stage test will continue to have their attainment assessed by teachers, and we will retain P scales for reporting teachers' judgements.
