We announced on 25 May 2023 that the New Hospital Programme is now expected to be backed by over £20 billion of investment in hospital infrastructure. This announcement now brings more certainty at scheme level to enable them to progress with their plans. We are committed to delivering all schemes that have been announced as part of the New Hospital Programme.<\/p>
Although we anticipate most schemes will be in construction by 2030, up to eight schemes are now expected to complete beyond this date, as the programme prioritises RAAC schemes due to their critical infrastructure risk.<\/p>
These eight schemes are:<\/p>
- St Mary's Hospital, Imperial;<\/p>
- Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals, Imperial;<\/p>
- Queen's Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital;<\/p>
- Royal Preston Hospital & Royal Lancaster Infirmary;<\/p>
- Eastbourne District General, Conquest and Bexhill Community Hospitals;<\/p>
- Hampshire Hospitals;<\/p>
- Royal Berkshire Hospital; and<\/p>
- North Devon District Hospital, Barnstaple.<\/p>
We do not currently anticipate any further schemes being delayed post 2030. The Government has not undertaken an assessment of the potential benefits of routinely collecting data about the parental responsibilities of anyone diagnosed with a mental health condition.<\/p>

However, the Government does recognise that parental mental health problems can have an impact on the wellbeing of children within the family and statutory guidance published in July 2018: \u2018Working Together to Safeguard Children\u2019 acknowledges that children may be at greater risk of harm or need additional help in families where adults have mental health problems.
