The following is based on the UK’s real living wage rates of £12.00 per hour and £13.15 per hour for London as of 14 November 2023.

Pay levels for DWP administrative staff are as follows:

a) All AA employees in Inner London are below the London rate.

b) Some AO employees on Legacy Terms and Conditions in Inner London are below the London rate. All other AO employees are above these rates.

c) All EO employees are above these rates.

This Government is committed to paying people a decent living wage, which is being addressed through the statutory National Living Wage. The real living wage is not a statutory requirement unlike the National Living Wage, which applies to those aged 23 and over. From 1 April 2023, the National Living Wage increased to £10.42 an hour. All DWP employees are paid above this rate.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/3926", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Paul Maynard"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Blackpool North and Cleveleys"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Paul Maynard"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2023-11-15", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2023-11-15T11:37:00.55Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "29"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Work and Pensions"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Work and Pensions"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2023-11-09", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Department for Work and Pensions: Pay"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, whether levels of pay for administrative staff in his Department at (a) AA, (b) AO and (c) EO grades are (i) below, (ii) equivalent to or (iii) higher than the Living Wage Foundation's real living wage.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4126", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Mary Glindon"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "North Tyneside"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Mary Glindon"} ], "uin" : "1143"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1462604", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1462604/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "

Reports of widespread human rights violations and abuses in Ethiopia committed by all sides to the conflict are very disturbing. These include extrajudicial killings, torture, sexual and gender-based violence, ethnic targeting, and the looting and destruction of civilian infrastructure. In my statement of 28 April, I [Minister Ford] reiterated the need for justice and accountability for the survivors and victims of crimes committed in Tigray, Amhara and Afar during this conflict. It is imperative that those who have committed or commanded human rights violations and abuses are held to account.

We have supported the Joint Investigation into human rights abuses and violations during the conflict, conducted by the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and we welcome the Ethiopian Government's creation of an Inter-Ministerial Taskforce to take forward recommendations of the Joint Investigation report. At a Special Session of the Human Rights Council (HRC) in December 2021, the UK co-sponsored a resolution mandating the creation of an International Commission of Human Rights Experts to investigate human rights abuses and violations committed during the conflict. I [Minister Ford] have urged all parties to cooperate with this International Commission.

The UK's new Human Rights and Peacebuilding programme (HARP) is providing £4.5 million support to help build the capacity of the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (including through enhanced investigative capacity), improve the availability and accessibility of services for survivors of gender-based violence, support peacebuilding initiatives and establish a national conflict research facility.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4674", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Vicky Ford"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Chelmsford"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Vicky Ford"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2022-05-19", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2022-05-19T16:48:55.287Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "208"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2022-05-12", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Ethiopia: Crimes against Humanity"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what steps she is taking to help prevent destruction of any evidence of (a) ethnic cleansing and (b) other war crimes, crimes against humanity, and human rights abuses in (i) western Tigray, and (ii) other areas of Ethiopia;, and what steps she will take to support accountability for any actions of destruction of such evidence that have already taken place.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/1583", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Ms Lyn Brown"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "West Ham"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Ms Lyn Brown"} ], "uin" : "1143"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1314561", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Department of Health and Social Care"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1314561/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "

While we do not hold information on the number of microbreweries (which are typically identified by the limited amount of beer they produce), data is collected on the number of manufacturers of beer split by employee size-band. As displayed in the table below the number of breweries has increased by over 120%, with the vast majority of this increase being among those enterprises with less than 10 employees.
