Government is addressing fuel poverty by improving home energy efficiency and making energy more affordable for vulnerable households. Parliament has passed legislation to introduce an energy price cap, protecting households on standard variable and default tariffs in addition to the protection provided by the pre-payment and vulnerable customer safeguard tariffs. Over 2 million low income and vulnerable households will also benefit this winter from the Warm Home Discount, a £140 rebate on their energy bill which we have committed to through to 2021 and all pensioner households receive between £100 and £300 over the winter months through the Winter Fuel Payment.<\/p>
<\/p>
We have also announced that we will focus all of the £640 million per year Energy Company Obligation on low income and vulnerable households from 2018 to 2022. This new scheme will also include support for innovation, aimed at improving quality and reducing the cost of technologies that will be required to meet the fuel poverty target. Beyond those dates, we committed through the Clean Growth Strategy to extending support for energy efficiency at least at the current level of ECO through to 2028, meaning over £6 billion of investment will be made into home energy efficiency over the next ten years. Protecting low income and vulnerable consumers when it comes to their energy costs is a priority for this Government. This is why the Energy Company Obligation, our main domestic energy efficiency scheme, will now be solely focused on upgrading the homes of those on low incomes to help tackle the root cause of fuel poverty.<\/p>

Since August 2012 the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has benefitted from having central records of contracts let by the Department. However, the operational management of each contract continues to rest with the respective project SRO (Senior Responsible Owner) or team, and there may often be valid reasons for any subsequent contract changes. The Government has initiated a supply chain plan policy in the renewable electricity sector. To be able to take part in the allocation process for a Contract for Difference, developers of projects above 300MW must submit a supply chain plan providing evidence that the project will make a material contribution to the economic growth and viability of the industrial supply chain. Any plans assessed by Government to be unsatisfactory would not be allowed to enter the Contract for Difference round. In addition the Offshore Wind Industry Council \u2013 a partnership between industry and Government - is taking forward actions from the offshore wind supply chain review conducted by Matthew Chinn that was published last month.<\/p>

Through the industrial strategy programme, we are working in partnership with industry to develop strong supply chains in the UK. We have set out a range of measures in our sector strategies published last year, which we are continuing to deliver.<\/p>

HM Treasury officials wrote out to public sector pension schemes in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland on 6 April 2017. The letter made clear that cases like that of Ms Brewster should be dealt with in line with the UK Supreme Court\u2019s decision. The UK government is currently negotiating amendments to the 4th Anti-Money Laundering Directive that will bring virtual currency exchange platforms and custodian wallet providers into Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing regulation, which will result in these firms\u2019 activities being overseen by national competent authorities for these areas. The government supports the intention behind these amendments.
