The Foreign Secretary and I, alongside other British Government Ministers, routinely raise our concerns about the persecution of religious minorities, including Christians, where this occurs. He recently asked the Bishop of Truro to conduct an independent review of the persecution of Christians around the world to help inform this important area of our work and ensure it is targeted and effective. The Government works with a large number of NGOs, including Open Doors, to help promote and protect freedom of religion or belief. We use information from a wide range of sources to inform our work.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/1405", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Mark Field"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Cities of London and Westminster"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Mark Field"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2019-01-31", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "groupedQuestionUIN" : [{"_value" : "211879"} , {"_value" : "211880"} , {"_value" : "211881"} , {"_value" : "211882"} , {"_value" : "211883"} , {"_value" : "211884"} , {"_value" : "211885"} , {"_value" : "211886"} , {"_value" : "211887"} , {"_value" : "211888"} , {"_value" : "211889"} , {"_value" : "211890"} , {"_value" : "211891"} , {"_value" : "211892"} , {"_value" : "211893"} , {"_value" : "211894"} , {"_value" : "211895"} , {"_value" : "211896"} , {"_value" : "211898"} , {"_value" : "211899"} , {"_value" : "211900"} , {"_value" : "211901"} , {"_value" : "211902"} , {"_value" : "211903"} , {"_value" : "211904"} , {"_value" : "211905"} , {"_value" : "211906"} , {"_value" : "211907"} , {"_value" : "211908"} , {"_value" : "211909"} , {"_value" : "211910"} , {"_value" : "211911"} , {"_value" : "211912"} , {"_value" : "211913"} , {"_value" : "211914"} , {"_value" : "211915"} , {"_value" : "211916"} , {"_value" : "211917"} , {"_value" : "211918"} , {"_value" : "211919"} , {"_value" : "211920"} , {"_value" : "211921"} , {"_value" : "211922"} , {"_value" : "211923"} , {"_value" : "211924"} , {"_value" : "211925"} , {"_value" : "211926"} , {"_value" : "211927"} , {"_value" : "211928"} ], "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2019-01-31T13:02:20.837Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "16"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Foreign and Commonwealth Office"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Foreign and Commonwealth Office"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2019-01-23", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Nepal: Christianity"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what discussions he has had with the Government of Nepal on its inclusion in the Open Doors 2019 World Watch List of the top 50 countries where Christians face persecution.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4640", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for David Linden"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Glasgow East"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "David Linden"} ], "uin" : "211897"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/100890", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Department for Education"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/100890/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "

Schools can choose whether to cover this topic as part of their curriculum. The non-statutory framework for Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education produced by the PSHE Association provides a context for teaching young people about emergency lifesaving skills (ELS) and resuscitation.

At primary level, pupils can learn about basic emergency procedures and where to get help, and at secondary level they can develop the skills to cope with emergency situations that require basic first aid procedures, including resuscitation techniques.

The Department for Education is encouraging schools to purchase defibrillators as part of their first aid equipment, and is currently working in partnership with the Department of Health and stakeholders to identify a supplier of defibrillators at a competitive price. An announcement is expected in early December.
