Pharmacy First was launched on 31 January 2024. The Department and NHS England will closely monitor the service. Additionally, the National Institute for Health and Care Research has commissioned a wrap-around evaluation of Pharmacy First, with a focus on antimicrobial resistance. There are no plans to change this service, which has only recently launched, but if any changes were proposed then we would consult Community Pharmacy England, as the representative body for all pharmacy contractors in England.<\/p>
General practices (GPs) and their teams already refer patients to community pharmacies for a wide range of services. Pharmacy First, for minor illnesses, is built on the existing Community Pharmacy Consultation Service. NHS England has further engaged with GP representatives during the development and launch of Pharmacy First.<\/p>
The Delivery plan for recovering access to primary care announced plans to significantly improve the digital infrastructure between GPs and community pharmacies. Pharmacy IT systems already generate automated emails to the patient\u2019s GP following a consultation. We are taking this one step further for Pharmacy First. Later this year, pharmacy IT systems will send information about a Pharmacy First consultation directly into the GP\u2019s workflow. This will be a first for the National Health Service, but will become the norm over time for other parts of the NHS, further reducing bureaucracy for GPs. Pte Barlett\u2019s death on 16 July 2001 was subject to a coroner\u2019s inquest and was ruled an accidental death caused by acute poisoning. The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is not conducting any further investigation into the circumstances of his death at this time. My deepest sympathy goes out to Pte Bartlett\u2019s family and all those affected by this tragic accident.<\/p>
The Minister for the Armed Forces set the Terms of Reference for an independent review: \u2018The Deepcut Review\u2019. This review was launched on 22 March 2004 and was led by Sir Nicholas Blake QC. The terms of reference were to investigate the deaths of four soldiers by gunshot wounds at Princess Royal Barracks Deepcut between 1995-2002. Within those terms, the scope of the Review and the matters to be examined, were a matter for Sir Nicholas Blake QC to decide. The MOD co-operated fully with the Review into the Deepcut deaths and made documentation available to it.<\/p>

Surrey Police had complete jurisdiction for the investigation into Pte Bartlett\u2019s death, with assistance offered by the Royal Military Police where requested. In the 25 Year Environment Plan, the Government committed to publishing an England Peat Strategy to create and deliver a new ambitious framework for peat restoration in England. We intend to publish it in due course. That strategy will set out a holistic plan for the management, protection and restoration of our upland and lowland peatlands so that they deliver benefits for climate and nature. We are considering the Committee on Climate Change\u2019s recommendations in drawing up the strategy.<\/p>

We are currently allocating £10 million in 2018-21 for approximately 5,948 hectares of peatland restoration; our manifesto committed to increase that as part of the new £640 million Nature for Climate Fund.
