Raising State Pension age in line with life expectancy changes has been the policy of successive administrations over many years<\/p>
DWP estimate that the total additional cost if we had not implemented any increases in State Pension age would be in the region of £215bn for the period 2010/11 to 2025/26, in 2018/19 prices. In any case referred to the CPS by the police, a decision to prosecute is made in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors, and a case must meet the evidential and public interest stages of the Full Code Test. Ultimately, the decision was taken that a prosecution could not proceed.<\/p>
The Government is unable to confirm or deny the existence of any evidence being withheld on national security grounds.<\/p>
