Fur farming has been banned in England and Wales since 2000, and 2002 in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Now we have left the EU, the Government is able to explore potential action in relation to animal fur.<\/p>

We recently concluded a call for evidence on the fur trade in Great Britain which provided both stakeholders and the public the opportunity to provide evidence and views on this important matter, which received around 30,000 responses. The Border, Immigration and Citizenship System (BICS) is predominately funded by the user. The Home Office believes it is right those who use it contribute to its cost, thereby reducing the burden on the UK taxpayer. Income collected from the Immigration Skills charge is used to address skills gaps in the UK workforce and income generated by Immigration Health Surcharge payments go directly to NHS services, helping to protect and sustain our world-class healthcare system for everyone who uses it.<\/p>
