IAPT is run by the National Health Service in England and offers National Institute for Health and Care Excellence-approved therapies for treating people with anxiety and depression. Data about the IAPT programme is available from April 2012 and it is therefore not possible to provide data for years prior to this.<\/p>

The IAPT dataset records whether a referral is for a patient who has been a member of the British Armed Forces (BAF). It is not possible to identify the type of Armed Forces Service that the patient belonged to, or whether the patient was a regular or reserve veteran.<\/p>

The number of referrals for ex-BAF personnel that have been received, entered treatment and finished a course of treatment for all years up to 2017-18, grouped by the type of diagnosis problem, submitted as an ICD-10 code, are displayed in the attached tables.<\/p>

Until April 2018, veterans formed part of a wider vulnerable group category that included: care leavers, ex-offenders and those who have fled home because of violence or the threat of violence (other than domestic violence). As a result, individual statistics on homeless veterans before that date are not published.<\/p> In April 2018 the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government introduced a new case-level data collection called H-CLIC (Homelessness Case Level Information Collection). This gives local authorities and Government more information regarding homelessness and those presenting as homeless, including those individuals who are veterans as a separate category. The Government does not differentiate between regular and reserve personnel, nor does it record rank.<\/p> In England from April to June 2018, of the 58,660 households to who, at the point of initial decision, were owed a homelessness duty by the local authority, 0.7 per cent (430) of main applicants had served in the armed forces.<\/p> The latest local authority level statistics, and quarterly statistics since 2009, can be found here:<\/p>
