The Armed Forces Memorial, at the National Memorial Arboretum in Shropshire, is a nationally significant focus for Remembrance. It honours those members of the Armed Forces (Regular and Reserve) who were killed on duty while performing functions attributable to the special circumstances and requirements of the Armed Forces, or as a result of terrorist action, and those who died while deployed on designated operations. This includes those who lost their lives in the Aden Emergency.

All those brave Service personnel who gave their lives in conflict were commemorated by the Ministry of Defence on Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph; the Department has no current plans to specifically commemorate those who gave their lives during the Aden Emergency of 1963-67.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/1544", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Lord Lancaster of Kimbolton"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Milton Keynes North"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Mark Lancaster"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2017-12-13", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2017-12-13T15:31:47.717Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "11"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Defence"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Defence"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2017-12-05", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Aden: Military Decorations"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what plans he has to commemorate those who gave their lives in Aden.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/411", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Mr Barry Sheerman"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Huddersfield"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Mr Barry Sheerman"} ], "uin" : "117625"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/801155", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/801155/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "

Pollution caused by sewage is mainly addressed through the implementation of the Urban Waste Water Treatment Regulations, which have set standards for the collection and treatment of sewage since 1994. Since privatisation, around £25 billion has been invested to reduce pollution from sewage, covering improvements in sewage treatment and in sewer overflows. In England, between 2015 and 2020 water companies are investing over £3 billion to improve their sewerage infrastructure, guided by the requirements of the Environment Agency. We have also indicated in the Strategic Policy Statement to Ofwat (the economic regulator), that as part of the Price Review 2019, we expect them to challenge companies to improve planning and investment to meet the wastewater needs of current and future customers, while protecting the environment.

Since 2008, the Environment Agency has made changes to over 270 abstraction licences to prevent over 30 billion litres of water per year being removed from the environment. This is enough water to supply half a million people, with water for one year.

The Government is updating its plan for managing abstraction and will publish it shortly.

All refugees have access to English language training as part of their access to the labour market. We support English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses as part of our wider effort to improve adult literacy in England.

We provide full funding for ESOL courses for unemployed adults, including refugees, on work-related benefits, such as Job Seekers Allowance or Employment Support Allowance. All other learners are supported by the government with 50% of the course costs.

Additionally, the Home Office provides funding for English language as part of its commitment to resettling vulnerable people through the Vulnerable Persons Relocation Scheme to the UK and helping them integrate into their local communities. This funding includes a tariff for each person resettled, a proportion of which can be allocated to ESOL provision.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4009", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Sir Brandon Lewis"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Great Yarmouth"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Brandon Lewis"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2017-12-11", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2017-12-11T11:41:57.187Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Home Office"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Home Office"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2017-12-05", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Refugees: English Language"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what steps the Government is taking (a) nationally and (b) within communities to support refugees to learn English.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/411", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Mr Barry Sheerman"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Huddersfield"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Mr Barry Sheerman"} ], "uin" : "117718"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/801160", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "HM Treasury"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/801160/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "
