British aid is helping to educate 800,000 Nigerian children, including 600,000 girls, through a package of educational support to state governments in Nigeria. DFID also has an extensive portfolio of programmes helping Nigeria to provide long-term security for its citizens, particularly working to prevent violence against women and girls.
