The Government published ‘From harm to hope: A 10-year drug strategy to cut drug crime and save lives’ in December 2021 in response to Dame Carol Black’s independent review of drugs, which found that more needed to be done to prevent drug misuse. The strategy focuses on delivering three strategic priorities including achieving a shift in demand for drugs. This will include preventing the onset of drug use among children and young people through universal education and protecting vulnerable children and young people to ensure they are less likely to start taking drugs.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4447", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Maggie Throup"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Erewash"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "Maggie Throup"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2022-04-28", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2022-04-28T10:37:57.527Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "17"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Health and Social Care"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Health and Social Care"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2022-04-20", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Drugs: Misuse"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what recent assessment his Department has made of the adequacy of services to help prevent drug-related problems before they occur.", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4667", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Mike Amesbury"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Weaver Vale"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Mike Amesbury"} ], "uin" : "156579"} , {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1288107", "AnsweringBody" : [{"_value" : "Treasury"} ], "answer" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/resources/1288107/answer", "answerText" : {"_value" : "

On 23 March 2020, the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS) was launched to support businesses’ access to lending, making external finance more available and affordable at this difficult time.

Under the scheme, viable businesses with a turnover of less than £45m are eligible to apply for loans of up to £5m and the Government will provide lenders with a guarantee of 80% on each loan. As of 24 January, lenders have approved more than 87,000 facilities worth almost £21bn through CBILS.

Businesses with a private equity investor, including where that investor holds a majority or controlling stake, can still be eligible for CBILS, provided that they satisfy the other eligibility criteria of the scheme. When assessing the £45 million turnover eligibility threshold and the maximum loan amount available, the business will be considered separately to the private equity investor, and its other investments.
"} , "answeringMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4051", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for John Glen"} } , "answeringMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "Salisbury"} , "answeringMemberPrinted" : {"_value" : "John Glen"} , "dateOfAnswer" : {"_value" : "2021-03-01", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "groupedQuestionUIN" : [{"_value" : "156577"} , {"_value" : "156578"} ], "isMinisterialCorrection" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "questionFirstAnswered" : [{"_value" : "2021-03-01T10:49:02.073Z", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} ]} , "answeringDeptId" : {"_value" : "14"} , "answeringDeptShortName" : {"_value" : "Treasury"} , "answeringDeptSortName" : {"_value" : "Treasury"} , "date" : {"_value" : "2021-02-22", "_datatype" : "dateTime"} , "hansardHeading" : {"_value" : "Companies: Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme"} , "houseId" : {"_value" : "1"} , "legislature" : [{"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/terms/25259", "prefLabel" : {"_value" : "House of Commons"} } ], "questionText" : "To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what value-for-money assessment he undertook before offering coronavirus business interruption loan scheme loans to private equity-owned companies", "registeredInterest" : {"_value" : "false", "_datatype" : "boolean"} , "tablingMember" : {"_about" : "http://data.parliament.uk/members/4769", "label" : {"_value" : "Biography information for Daisy Cooper"} } , "tablingMemberConstituency" : {"_value" : "St Albans"} , "tablingMemberPrinted" : [{"_value" : "Daisy Cooper"} ], "uin" : "156579"} ], "itemsPerPage" : 10, "page" : 0, "startIndex" : 1, "totalResults" : 2, "type" : ["http://purl.org/linked-data/api/vocab#ListEndpoint", "http://purl.org/linked-data/api/vocab#Page"]} }
